The Thorgeon LED Flicker Flame is a decorative flame candle bulb that mimics the movement of a real flame — the light flickers gently, creating a candle-like atmosphere without the risk of fire. The 1800K color temperature provides a yellowish candle-like glow, and the clear glass reveals the LED filament in a stylish way.

Compatibility and installation

Intended use: this bulb is intended for decorative and mood lighting only. The luminous flux is only 8 lm, so the bulb does not function as a source of general lighting — it is an effect light that imitates a candle flame.

Typical applications:

  • Electric "candelabra" lanterns in restaurants
  • Christmas decorations — electric candle arches and window lights
  • Electric candles for cemeteries and memorial sites
  • Mood lighting for pubs and vintage-style restaurants

Dimmability: this model is non-dimmable. The flame effect is built into the bulb and cannot be adjusted with a dimmer.

Installation checklist:

  1. Check that the base of the old bulb is E14 (small Edison screw).
  2. Measure that the external dimensions of the bulb (Ø36 × 100 mm) fit into the fixture.
  3. Do not use with a dimmer — the flame effect will not work when dimmed.
  4. Use in dry indoor spaces — IP20 protection, not suitable for direct outdoor electric candles without a separate protective cover.

Usein kysytyt kysymykset

Does the lamp work for general lighting?

No. The luminous flux of the bulb is only 8 lm — this is an effect light, not a source of general lighting. It is intended to create the atmosphere of a candle flame electrically and safely. For general lighting, you will need a significantly more powerful bulb (at least 200–800 lm).

Is the lamp dimmable?

No. The flame effect is built into the lamp and cannot be adjusted with a dimmer. If you connect the lamp to a dimmer, the effect may be disrupted or the lamp will turn off. Use the lamp with a standard on/off switch.

How is the flame effect created?

Inside the bulb is an LED filament, the brightness of which is controlled by electronics. The electronics adjust the current slightly unevenly, causing the LED light to flicker like a candle flame. The color temperature of 1800K (yellowish) reinforces the candle-like feel. The effect is natural — not a mechanical flashing.

Does the light fit into a grave candle?

Yes, if the electric candle has an E14 base and is in a dry indoor space (e.g., a columbarium, chapel). The bulb is not suitable for outdoor cemetery candles without an IP-rated fixture — an IP20 rating cannot withstand rain or snowfall. Check the candle’s housing before installation.
